Introducing Hans Rosling

by Sam Roggeveen - 3 December 2009 11:08AM

My friend Alistair sent me an email recommending this presentation, by a Swedish academic I'd never heard of before, Hans Rosling (here's his blog).

It's a terrifically entertaining and informative talk about the rise of Asia, ending with a bold prediction of the exact date that Asia will overtake the West in economic power. Great use of visual aids, too*. Enjoy.

* I see from Wikipedia that Rosling in fact developed the statistical and graphing tools (Gapminder) that you see used to such great effect in the presentation.

Interpreting the Aid Review

This is the archive of a Lowy Institute blog which ran from January to April of 2011. It was published to debate the Gillard Government's independent aid review, which was then in its research and consultation phase. We offer this archive as a service to researchers and the general public.
