More on France's White Paper

by Sam Roggeveen - 19 June 2008 12:50PM

Updating my post of yesterday, here's an English language link to President Sarkozy's speech launching the new national security White Paper. At the bottom of the page there's also a link to a 48-page English-language summary (!) of the document. I'm a little baffled that terrorism is ranked as France's highest security priority, but encouraged by the fact that the French see defence of the homeland in holistic terms, rather than as strictly a defence activity. There's even mention of resilience. Also notable is the emphasis on cyber-threats and space security.

There's more good blog coverage here and here.

Interpreting the Aid Review

This is the archive of a Lowy Institute blog which ran from January to April of 2011. It was published to debate the Gillard Government's independent aid review, which was then in its research and consultation phase. We offer this archive as a service to researchers and the general public.
